11/19/20: Herbicide Justice Discussion, hosted by HFC Berkeley and ASUC Senator Tellem's Environmental Justice Department
HFC Berkeley and ASUC Senator Tellem's Environmental Justice Department present:
Discussing Herbicide Justice:
Panel with Dominica Navarro and Carmen Ramirez
Thursday, November 19 from 5:30PM - 6:30PM PST
Herbicides, pesticides, and other harmful agro chemicals are often not talked about in mainstream environmental justice efforts. In this panel we will learn from the perspectives of two amazing panelists, Dominica Navarro and Carmen Ramirez, to better understand how this disproportionately affects the Latinx community and the hard work that goes into directly addressing these injustices. It is so important to highlight the stories of Latinx and BIPOC communities most affected by herbicide and pesticide use, so this will be extremely impactful for those who have never heard about these kinds of issues before. It will also be an opportunity for community members to better understand why it is so important to fight for herbicide justice and to gain resources to personally engage with this movement!
