Frequently Asked Questions

What is Herbicide-Free Campus' Fellowship Program?

Our student fellowship supports student activists as they seek to make change on their campus through an elimination of synthetic herbicides and a transition to organic land management. Upon entering the fellowship, students are provided with resources, live trainings, and one-on-one coaching sessions to build and maintain their on-campus campaign. Through our innovative fellowship, students gain valuable skills that can be applied to future environmental, social, and political activism efforts.

Since its origin at the University of California, Berkeley in 2017, Herbicide-Free Campus has spread to twenty other campuses across the United States. Highlights from the 2021 fellowship cohort include schools that embarked on rewilding projects, passed campus resolutions for organic land management, and created designated organic spaces on their campuses. If you’re interested in starting a campaign at your school, fill out our interest form here.
